The next generation of the budget Apple iPhone SE smartphone may receive support for Apple Intelligence technology. According to data published by The Verge, citing Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, this could happen in 2025. Until now, AI features have only been available on the iPhone 15 Pro, but it's expected that the entire iPhone 16 lineup will be equipped with Apple Intelligence this fall.

If the information is confirmed, the most affordable Apple smartphone will become significantly more attractive to buyers. Traditionally, the iPhone SE has offered a compromise between an affordable price and a fairly powerful processor in an outdated case (the latest SE uses the design of the iPhone 8).

However, according to rumors, the next SE will be housed in an iPhone 14 body, getting rid of the large bezels and the Home button characteristic of pre-iPhone X models. It may even receive a 6.1-inch OLED screen. Given that Apple’s AI features cannot run on the iPhone 15 due to insufficient power, it can be assumed that the next iPhone SE will also have greater performance.

Although the iPhone 16, which is expected to be announced soon, will likely retain some advantages, such as a dual camera and the Action Button like the iPhone 15 Pro, these features are unlikely to be available on the iPhone SE. However, if the next-generation SE looks like the iPhone 14, has performance comparable to the iPhone 16, and retains the attractive price characteristic of the SE series, these advantages may not be as important.
