Vivo has officially unveiled the V40 and V40 Pro smartphones in India. The Vivo V40 had previously appeared in Europe, but its price was not announced at that time. These are mid-range devices with enhanced photography capabilities, particularly for portrait shots.
Both models feature large batteries despite their slim profile: both the Vivo V40 and V40 Pro have a 5500 mAh battery and a thickness of 7.58 mm. These are the largest batteries in the Vivo V series and support 80-watt wired charging.
The Vivo V40 is equipped with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, while the V40 Pro has a Dimensity 9200+. Both smartphones have the same display: a 6.78-inch AMOLED with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and a resolution of 2800x1260 pixels. At the top of the screen is a 50 MP front camera with a Samsung ISOCELL JN1 sensor.
The Vivo V40 Pro features a 50 MP Sony IMX921 main camera, complemented by a 50 MP Sony IMX816 telephoto module and a 50 MP ultra-wide module. The V40 has a simpler rear camera setup with two 50 MP modules, one of which includes an ultra-wide lens. Both devices' main cameras support optical image stabilization and the AI Aura Light feature for portrait photography, developed in collaboration with the ZEISS photography brand.
The Vivo V40 will be available in 8/128 GB, 12/256 GB, and 12/512 GB memory versions, while the Vivo V40 Pro will come in 8/256 GB, 12/256 GB, and 12/512 GB versions. The starting price for the base model in India is $480, while the Pro version starts at $655.
