The smartphone battery drains not only during the use of applications but also when they are running in the background. Therefore, to save battery, users should pay attention to settings that put a load on the battery when the smartphone is not in use. This is reported by the publication RT in Russian, citing the words of Ilya Kazakov, technical director of the Powerbanks MTS Urent service.

In this context, the expert highlighted applications such as maps with geolocation, social networks, and video players that constantly run in the background. In addition, Ilya Kazakov emphasized that maximum screen brightness causes the smartphone to overheat and drain the battery. It is recommended to adjust the screen brightness depending on external conditions – brighter in the sun and dimmer in the dark.

High temperatures can also lead to faster battery discharge, the expert warns. This can happen due to heat outdoors or the processor performing resource-intensive tasks. Using a non-original power adapter can lead to incorrect voltage regulation and device overheating.

Ilya Kazakov also recommends disabling push notifications, as they drain the smartphone battery in the background. He also advises turning on battery saver mode or power saving mode, limiting background data, disabling dynamic wallpapers and moving widgets, and always updating the phone's software.

Finally, Ilya Kazakov recommends monitoring the battery's condition to avoid being left without a connection at an inconvenient moment. To do this, you should choose optimal charging methods, not letting the charge level drop below 20% and not leaving the phone to charge overnight. These methods minimize the load on the battery and extend its life.
