Before its release, the specifications of the new budget smartphone Google Pixel 8a have become known. In particular, it will receive the next-generation Tensor G3 processor, which works at reduced frequencies. This is reported by WccfTech, referring to the Geekbench 5 benchmark test results.

The Pixel 8a scored 1,218 points in the single-core test and 3,175 points in the multi-core test. In comparison, the Snapdragon 8 Gen2, Qualcomm's flagship processor of the current generation, scored 1,479 and 4,803 points respectively in the Geekbench 5 test.

WccfTech considers the difference to be quite large. In addition, this difference will increase even more when the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 processor is released in late 2023.

Google Pixel 8a will have 8 GB of RAM and will run on Android 14.

The Pixel 8a is expected to launch in early 2024. The price of the phone and other details have not yet been announced.
