Funny record: Girl maintains 7470 active tabs in Firefox for 2 years

An engineer named Hazel set a new record by maintaining 7,470 tabs in the Firefox browser on a Mac computer for two years. The PC Mag portal reports this, citing the girl’s publication on social networks.

After two years of this, the browser reset all the tabs, but Hazel was able to restore them using the Firefox profile cache. A complete reboot of the session took less than a minute.

Hazel also said that she keeps so many tabs because of nostalgia: she likes to look through them to remember what she was interested in before and what she did. It is, she says, like traveling back in time.

Interestingly, as it turned out, an excessive number of tabs did not have a negative impact on computer performance. Hazel noted that Firefox manages memory efficiently, loading site content only when the corresponding tab is activated, which can significantly save system resources. A profile cache with 7470 tabs takes up only 70 MB.
