Sony abandoned 4K and 21:9 screen: Flagship smartphone Xperia 1 VI has been presented

May 15, 2024  16:07

The Sony company presented the leading smartphone Xperia 1 VI. This smartphone of the sixth generation of the current flagship series has kept the same design and, in general, does not differ much from last year's model. However, there are important differences.

For example, Sony, for reasons still unknown, abandoned its own 21:9 aspect ratio screens, which it started promoting earlier than others. The Xperia 1 VI has a 19.5:9 aspect ratio display.

In addition, Sony has abandoned 4K, replacing it with Full HD+. As for the rest, the new smartphone has an OLED LTPO screen with a frequency of 1 to 120 Hz and a brightness of 1300 qd/m2.

The battery capacity is still the same at 5000 mAh and charging at 30W. The new smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC processor, has 12 GB of RAM and 256 or 512 GB of built-in memory. The company has finally started using an evaporation chamber for platform cooling.

The main camera seems to have remained unchanged. It's a 48 MP sensor with a 1/1.35-inch optical format. In addition, the smartphone received a camera with an 85-170 mm telephoto lens.

The smartphone has a headphone jack, a front-facing camera that is still inside the frame, and a matte glass back. The smartphone comes in three colors (black, white and green) and costs 1,400 euros.
