As promised, Apple has released the iOS 17.0.3 update, which the company says will fix the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max overheating issue, 9to5mac portal reported.

The new version of the operating system is designed to solve the optimization errors of the new iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, which caused the smartphones to overheat.

According to 9to5mac's tests, the update did not affect the performance of the A17 Pro processor used in the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max. In Geekbench 5 benchmark tests, the smartphone running iOS 17.0.3 scored 2941 points in single-core tests and 7523 points in multi-core tests.

Prior to this update, the results were 2914 and 7199 respectively. This shows that Apple didn't really lower the processor frequency to reduce the temperature.

For the first time, overheating of the iPhone 15 Pro was reported immediately after the start of sales of new smartphones. Judging by the first tests, Apple's new flagships actually suffered from overheating, which was seen during the Genshin Impact game. At the beginning of October, users of Chinese social networks began to complain that they even got burns as a result of using the new iPhone.

It should be noted that owners of iPhone 15 series phones also complain about the sound quality of iPhone 15 speakers. In particular, they complain that when the volume of the speakers is increased to more than 80 percent, the sound is very distorted and resembles a whistling and whistling sound.
