Practically all the new iPhone 15 models will be lighter and more compact than their previous models released in 2022—although the new ones will be slightly thicker, reported MacRumors, whose sources have disclosed the exact parameters of some new models.

Accordingly, the base model of the iPhone 15 will have the following parameters: the thickness is only 7.8 mm, the length is 147.6 mm, the width is 71.6 mm, and the weight is 171 grams. For comparison, the previous model of the iPhone 14 has a thickness of 7.8 mm, a length of 146.7 mm, a width of 71.5 mm, and a weight of 172 grams.

As for the iPhone 15 Pro, its thickness is 8.25 mm, length—146.6 mm, width—70.6 mm, and weight—188 grams. Meanwhile, the previous model iPhone 14 Pro is 7.85 mm thick, 147.5 mm long, 71.5 mm wide, and weighs 206 grams.

The largest model of the new smartphones, the iPhone 15 Pro Max, has the following parameters: thickness: 8.25 mm, length: 159.9 mm, width: 76.7 mm, and weight: 221 grams. In turn, the previous version, iPhone 14 Pro Max, has the following dimensions: 7.85 mm, 160.7 mm, 77.6 mm, and weighs 240 grams.

The parameters of the iPhone 15 Plus, however, are not disclosed yet.

MacRumors assures that this considerable difference in weight between the current Pro models and the new versions is due to the different materials used in the body of these smartphones. Thus, the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max use stainless steel, while the newer devices use titanium. As for the base models of the iPhone, the difference in their weight is small because aluminum is used as the main material in both cases.

The official launch of the new iPhone 15 series is scheduled for Tuesday, and these smartphones are expected to have many innovations and improvements that will help draw the attention of consumers.
