WhatsApp launches new feature: Now user can send short video messages

July 28, 2023  10:15

WhatsApp has introduced a new feature that allows users to send short video messages of up to 60 seconds. This feature is similar to voice messages in the messenger and will be available to all users of the app in the coming weeks.

When the recipient opens the chat, the short video messages play automatically but are muted. Unlike video messages, voice messages do not play automatically and can be of any length. To send a video message, users need to click on the voice message icon and change it to video mode.

WhatsApp has offered the ability to send videos for a long time, but the new short video messaging feature simplifies the process, making it faster and more immediate.

WhatsApp has rolled out the new feature on both iOS and Android platforms since at least last month. The company said the feature will be available to all users in the coming weeks.

This innovation can be a significant step in simplifying and speeding up the exchange of information between people on the WhatsApp messenger. This can also help increase the activity of WhatsApp users as they get another convenient communication tool.
