WhatsApp to launch new function that not everyone will like

The WhatsApp messenger team is developing a feature for using animated emojis in chats, the WABetaInfo portal reports.

The new feature was spotted in the beta version of the service for PCs. According to experts at WABetaInfo, animated emojis will improve the user experience by making messaging "more fun" and emotions "brighter."

The animation will start automatically if the emoji selected by the user has an animated version. Animated emojis are created using Lottie, a custom web development library.

WABetaInfo also notes that it would be good if the messenger's management would consider adding an option to disable this function in the settings for those who consider the emoji animation unnecessary and that it interferes with the perception of information.

The new feature is expected to be available to a wide range of users in the near future.

Earlier it became known that the new Companion mode of WhatsApp will allow users of the application on Android devices to use one user account on four different devices. With Companion mode, all user chats will be automatically synced between all four devices connected to the same user account.

For now, this innovation is available only in the beta version of WhatsApp, and when it will become available to everyone is not known. There is no word yet on when the developers plan to launch a similar feature in the iOS version of the app.
