Honor has officially unveiled the new flagship mid-range smartphone Honor 80. The Honor 80 GT is designed more for gaming enthusiasts.
It is built on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 platform and runs MagicOS 7.0 powered by Android 13. The cool state of the smartphone's security center and other components is provided by a vapor chamber with an area of 4386 mm2 and a thickness of 0.35 mm.
The smartphone has LPDDR5 RAM and built-in UFS 3.1 memory. The already large capacity of 12 or 16 GB of RAM can be increased by another 7 GB by creating a virtual partition in the built-in memory.
The flat AMOLED display has Full HD+ resolution and a frame rate of 120 Hz. The PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) control frequency is 2160 Hz and the maximum brightness reaches 1400 cd/m2. The company also tried to minimize the frame of the screen as much as possible.
Honor 80 GT got a triple Sony IMX 800 camera with a 54 megapixel main sensor. The same camera is used in Honor 70 Pro and Xiaomi 13.
The phone is 7.9 mm thick and weighs 187 grams. The Honor 80 GT is lighter and thinner than the Xiaomi 12S Pro and iQOO 10 Pro (both built on the same platform), but it heats up less during gaming.
The battery capacity is 4,800 mph and it supports 66-watt charging.
The Honor 80 GT will be available in three colors – black, white and blue. The version with 12GB RAM and 56GB of internal storage costs $475, while the 16/256GB version costs $520.
