The Mini LED TV market showed significant growth in the second quarter of 2024, surpassing OLED TVs for the first time in both shipment volume and revenue.

According to Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), this growth was largely driven by Chinese brands, particularly TCL, which regained its position as the leading supplier of Mini LED TVs.

In the second quarter of 2024, shipments of high-end TVs increased by 44% year-over-year, while revenue grew by 28%. OLED TV shipments saw modest growth of 21% in volume, with revenue rising by 5%. However, Mini LED TVs outperformed OLED, with shipments growing by 68% and revenue increasing by 60%. Mini LED TVs accounted for 54% of total shipments for the quarter.

TCL and Hisense lead this category, with TCL’s high-end TV shipments increasing by 78% year-over-year and revenue growing by 81%. Xiaomi overtook Sony to claim the fifth spot.

TCL also surpassed Samsung, which had held the top position for three years, in Mini LED TV shipments. Samsung's share in the Mini LED segment dropped to 23%, with shipments declining by 19% year-over-year.
