The Chinese Huawei corporation will present a smartphone that folds in three parts. The company has published a teaser about the device on its Weibo page.
Judging by the short video, Huawei will release a flagship device called Mate XT. The distinctive feature of the smartphone will be its design, which allows the flexible screen to be folded into three parts. According to the GSM Arena website, devices with flexible screens on the market can only be folded in two parts.
Huawei has not disclosed the details of the device, but insiders have found out that the Mate XT will get special hinges. They will allow the device to be folded both outwards and inwards. When fully opened, the phone will have a screen of about 10 inches. Mate XT will be presented on September 10.
In the open state, the smartphone will also have a very thin body, about 5 millimeters. The device will be released with a Kirin chip, which will receive artificial intelligence (AI) support, and a camera with a 50-megapixel main module.
The price of Huawei Mate XT is not revealed. It is also not known whether the device will appear on the global market.
At the end of August, the South Korean Samsung corporation promised to release a smartphone with a foldable screen. The company announced that it is working on a device whose screen can be folded in several places.
