Xiaomi smartphones will feature protection against hidden surveillance cameras. This was reported by the blog XiaomiTime.

According to the media, HyperOS 2.0, which will be available on new Xiaomi smartphones, will include a hidden camera detection feature. With this feature, users will be able to locate hidden cameras installed in rooms or open areas for surveillance.

According to insiders, the new feature analyzes wireless local area network (WLAN) signals. Most cameras are typically connected to a Wi-Fi network and transmit data to a remote server. The feature description includes a note: "Detect hidden cameras to protect your privacy and personal safety."

The report states that the new option can be activated through the smartphone settings. Users will need to open a special application and click on the "Start Scanning" button. Within a few minutes, the device will scan the network environment and display the results.

XiaomiTime specialists noted that the new feature will be especially useful for travelers who frequently change their accommodations and are concerned about their privacy.
