Global smartphone sales rose 6% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2024, marking the fastest annual growth rate in three years. Samsung is the leader of the list, followed by Apple and Xiaomi in the top three.

According to a recent report by Counterpoint Research, Samsung continues to dominate global mobile phone sales with a 20% share of the global market (5% year-on-year growth). Apple ranks second with a 16% share (-1% year-on-year).

Xiaomi, Vivo and Oppo ranked third, fourth and fifth with 14% (22% YoY growth), 8% (9% YoY growth) and 8% (16% YoY decline) of the market in shares respectively.

Counterpoint's analysis showed that the overall share of the top five brands declined compared to last year, mainly due to pressure from companies such as Huawei and Honor.

On the other hand, the share of the top ten brands in the global market is approaching 90%.
