Huge spherical screen, on which $2.3 billion was spent, is tested in Las Vegas

A huge spherical screen called the MSG Sphere, which cost $2.3 billion dollars to build, was tested in the US city of Las Vegas, reports CNN.

The screen, which was installed in the city's new concert platform, is 1,11.5 meters high and 158 meters wide; due to these dimensions, it is the largest spherical structure in the world.

The screen consists of 1.2 million LEDs, each of which is the size of a hockey puck.

The test launch of the MSG Sphere took place on the occasion of US Independence Day anniversary, which is celebrated on the 4th of July.

The official opening of the screen will take place on September 29.

Renowned musical band U2 will perform first on the new stage.

The MSG Sphere was designed by Populous Architects company.

The stadium, where this giant screen is located, can accommodate close to 18,000 people.

In addition to the concerts, the MSG Sphere will host film screenings. And the premiere of Darren Aronofsky's new film “Postcard From Earth” is already scheduled there.
