Elon Musk plans to create own version of ChatGPT, already seeking experts

Elon Musk, the owner of the Twitter, plans to create his own version of ChatGPT developed by the OpenAI company.

It is true that the work on this new project has not even started yet. According to The Information, Musk approached several artificial intelligence (AI) experts in recent weeks about creating a new research lab.

According to the newspaper, the new project will be led by engineer Igor Babuschkin, who specializes in machine learning models used in chatbots such as ChatGPT. He recently left Alphabet's DeepMind AI division.

In recent months, Musk has repeatedly criticized OpenAI for using safeguards that prevent ChatGPT from generating text that could offend users. His comments suggest that the rival chatbot will have fewer restrictions on controversial topics than ChatGPT and another chatbot based on it that Microsoft recently launched.

It is noteworthy that in 2015, Elon Musk was one of the founders of the OpenAI company that developed ChatGPT. However, due to a conflict of interests, he left the board of directors in 2018.

It's also interesting that Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI and creator of ChatGPT, has invested in a number of tech companies over the years, including in Elon Musk's Neuralink and Alexis Ohanian's Reddit.
