Honor introduces its first Magic V Flip foldable smartphone with largest external display in its class

The Chinese company Honor has introduced its first flip smartphone – the Honor Magic V Flip. It is designed to compete with models like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5, Oppo Find N3 Flip, and Vivo X Flip.

According to Honor, the new device features the largest external screen in its class – a 4-inch LTPO display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen can even play videos.

The foldable phone has a slim profile: it measures 7.15 mm when open and 14.89 mm when closed. The power button on the side includes a fingerprint scanner.

The internal screen of the Honor Magic V Flip is 6.8 inches with a 1.5K resolution (2520 x 1080 pixels) and a 120Hz refresh rate. The device also features stereo speakers.

Other specifications include a dual camera system (50MP and 12MP), a 50MP front camera, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, up to 12GB of RAM, up to 1TB of flash storage, a 4800mAh battery with 66W charging support, and the MagicOS 8 interface based on Android 14.

The Honor Magic V Flip is available in several configurations, starting at $689 for the base model with 8GB/256GB and up to $827 for the 12GB/1TB version. There is also a limited designer edition with 16GB/1TB, developed in collaboration with Jimmy Choo, priced at $965.

Pre-orders in China have already begun, and open sales will start on June 21, 2024.
