OpenAI is on the verge of launching GPT-5, the next version of its generative artificial intelligence model. According to Business Insider, the launch is scheduled for the summer, but timelines may shift.

It is expected that the new version will be much more advanced compared to GPT-4, which was introduced last year. OpenAI's CEO, Sam Altman, confirmed in a podcast with Lex Fridman that OpenAI plans to "release an amazing new model this year."

The Business Insider article also states that OpenAI has showcased demo versions of GPT-5 to some corporate clients who were impressed by its capabilities. One CEO described the GPT-5 model as "really good, significantly better than GPT-4." It is reported that the demo version demonstrated GPT-5's ability to adapt to specific usage scenarios.

Currently, GPT-5 is in the training phase. Afterward, the model will undergo extensive security testing, including thorough evaluation to identify and address potential issues before release. Corporate sales are expected to become the primary source of revenue for OpenAI after the launch of GPT-5.
