The OnePlus 12 smartphone will get a wooden back panel

Renowned insider Digital Chat Station (DCS) has recently shared a photo on their Chinese social media page, unveiling what appears to be the upcoming OnePlus 12 smartphone with a distinctive wooden back cover.

Speculations suggest that the photo showcases a special edition of the upcoming flagship OnePlus 12. It seems this version will be introduced as an exclusive edition, likely to be available only in the Chinese market.

Back in 2015, OnePlus introduced the OnePlus 2 smartphone lineup featuring interchangeable panels, including plastic, bamboo, Kevlar, and more. In the new OnePlus 12, the cover is expected to be non-removable, raising questions about whether it will be genuine wood or a simulated material.

The official unveiling of the OnePlus 12 is scheduled for December 4th in China. According to rumors, the smartphone will boast the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, a 6.82-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a triple camera setup featuring 50MP, 48MP, and 64MP lenses. Additionally, it is said to house a robust 5400mAh battery.

The OnePlus 12 is anticipated to be available internationally beyond China starting early 2024.
