Instagram globally down: Users report accounts blocked

October 31, 2022  20:34

Users from all over the world report failures in the work of the social network Instagram. This is confirmed by the service Downdetector.

Most of the complaints come from account holders from the United States, but users from the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Australia also report problems.

More than 60% of users complain that they can't use the app, and 34% have encountered problems with authorization - they couldn't log into their accounts.

Many users have also encountered a strange problem: Their accounts have allegedly been blocked or frozen. There is no official confirmation of this information and the messages received by these users are most likely the result of an error in the service, which will surely be restored soon.

The last serious Instagram failure was registered in July of this year. At that time, 77% of users encountered difficulties during the loading of the news feed.

On October 25 a global failure occurred in the work of WhatsApp, which, like Instagram, also belongs to Meta Corporation. A few hours later the service was restored, but the cause of the failure was not reported.
