WhatsApp may introduced paid features

WhatsApp developers, following the example of Telegram, may also introduce a paid premium subscription in their messenger. RIA Novosti reports this, citing the words of Vladimir Zikov, director of the Association of Professional Users of Social Networks and Messengers.

According to Zikov, WhatsApp consistently replicates all new features of Telegram. The specialist believes that this is how the American messenger tries not to lose relevance and not to repeat the fate of the ICQ service, which was extremely popular in the 2000s.

"There are already news channels on WhatsApp, and a premium subscription will definitely appear there...", the agency quotes Zykov as saying.

The expert added that the future radical update of WhatsApp's design is also inspired by Telegram's design. According to Zykov, the American service wants to be "lighter" also in terms of visual perception.

Zikov believes that when the messenger became the market leader, it stopped developing its mobile version and created convenient and useful options for ordinary users.

WhatsApp regularly introduces new features. Recently, it became known that a new user protection system will be introduced in WhatsApp. In addition, users will be able to hide their IP address when making calls, send each other high-resolution photos and videos, and create their own stickers with the help of artificial intelligence. WhatsApp also recently announced that it will add a new feature to protect messages.
