WhatsApp will introduce a new user protection system

WhatsApp will introduce a new function that will use email address to authenticate users while they log in into their accounts, WABetaInfo reports.

This new feature is still under development and is available to some testers of WhatsApp for Android beta version 2.23.18.19.

The email address will be used as an alternative way to log into your WhatsApp account. It is noted that the email address will not be visible to contacts and to those the users chats with. At the same time, new users still need to register in the messenger with a phone number.

This innovation can be helpful for users who are having trouble logging into their accounts and are complaining that they can't log into WhatsApp because they don't receive the six-digit code via SMS.

Users will not be forced to use this authentication method: if they wish, they can continue to access their account via SMS.

So far, there is no information on what schedule this new feature will be introduced and when it will be available to everyone.

WhatsApp regularly introduces new features. Recently, it became known that users will be able to hide their IP address when making calls, send each other high-resolution photos and videos, create their own stickers with the help of artificial intelligence.

WhatsApp also recently announced that it will add a new feature to protect messages. In another innovation, Messenger has also recently added the ability to add multiple accounts to one phone at the same time.
