WhatsApp introduces new feature, changes the settings interface

September 4, 2023  20:14

In the beta version of the WhatsApp messenger for Android, the interface of the "Settings" section has been updated and the a new function has been added that allows to use more than one account from one device, the WABetaInfo portal reports.

The innovation of the new feature in Messenger is that it enables switching from one account to another, which allows users to sign up for more than one account and use them on the same device. Previously, they had to clone WhatsApp or download third-party apps for additional accounts to do the same.

It is noted that users can add only one additional account. The number of additional user accounts may be added in the future.

The second and no less important update is that the Settings section has been changed and is now brought in the same style as the iOS version of WhatsApp. This Android menu is now divided into "tiles" and sub-section lists, just like on the iPhone.

Both innovations are available to a wide range of testers who have installed the 2.23.18.21 beta version of WhatsApp for Android. When the innovations will appear among users of the main versions of the messenger, it is not reported.

WhatsApp regularly introduces new features. Recently, it became known that a new user protection system would be introduced in WhatsApp. In addition, users will be able to hide their IP address when making calls, send each other high-resolution photos and videos, and create their own stickers with the help of artificial intelligence. WhatsApp also recently announced that it will add a new feature to protect messages.
