New iPhone 15: Will the consumers buy it?

August 3, 2023  17:33

The iPhone 15 series, which will be released in the near future, is now in the focus of many users and experts: everybody is interested in knowing what the new smartphones will have characteristics. Despite the general interest, the demand for smartphones in the series is likely to be very modest, according to analyst and influential insider Ming-Chi Kuo.

According to MacRumors, demand for the iPhone 15 line will be lower than for the iPhone 14 that was released in the fall of 2022. And this, according to the expert, could affect the income of Apple suppliers in the second half of 2023.

The upcoming iPhone lineup will consist of four models: iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Each of the devices will receive unique functions and characteristics. All four models are expected to feature a USB-C charging port, as well as Dynamic Island, which is currently only available on iPhone 14 Pro models.

The iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max models are predicted to receive a number of significant improvements, including a faster A17 Bionic processor, a titanium bezel, a customizable button instead of a mute button, smaller frames around the display, and improved optical zoom for the Pro Max camera.

Despite all this, it is possible that new smartphones really will not cause the expected interest, especially if the prices are really higher compared to last year. Other experts, however, expect a shortage of the new iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max.

Interestingly, the demand for the iPhone 14 also turned out to be much lower than Apple could have expected. According to some reports, sales of the iPhone 14 fell by as much as 70% compared to the iPhone 13. Experts explain the lack of interest by the fact that the 14th model was not much different from the 13th, and therefore many users simply did not see the point in buying it. Later, many unpleasant problems were discovered in the devices of this series, which probably further influenced their popularity.

If a similar situation repeats with the iPhone 15 series this year, Apple could face some pretty serious problems.

It is important to keep in mind that the smartphone market is constantly changing, and consumer reaction to new products can depend on many factors, including specifications, design, and pricing.
