The new Xiaomi 12T series smartphones will come with 108- and 200-MP cameras

Xiaomi will soon unveil its first smartphone with a 200-megapixel camera. We are talking about the Xiaomi 12T Pro and the vanilla model 12T.

Both phones will have flat 6.67-inch AMOLED displays with a resolution of 1220 x 2712 pixels (sometimes referred to as "1.5K" - something between FHD+ and QHD+). The displays will have a 120 Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 5 glass.

The batteries will have a 5000 mAh capacity and 120W fast charging (nothing is said about wireless charging, so there probably won't be one). While these two models are considered pretty premium, Xiaomi will reportedly lower their cost of ownership by switching from a metal frame to a plastic one.

The Xiaomi 12T Pro will have a 200-megapixel camera with a fairly bright f/1.69 aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS). It's probably the same Samsung HP1 (1/1.22-inch) sensor as the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra, except Moto puts it behind a narrower f/1.9 aperture.

The Pro model will also feature the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, which was also used in the 12S phones. Here it will be paired with 8/12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

The vanilla Xiaomi 12T will have a 108MP main camera with an f/1.65 aperture (but apparently without OIS).

The other camera modules on the 12T and 12T Pro will be the same, and they're not particularly impressive: there will be an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera on the front, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel selfie camera. The Qualcomm 12T chip will be replaced by the Dimensity 8100 Ultra, though it's unclear how it differs from the regular 8100. It will be paired with 8GB of RAM (no 12GB option) and 128/256GB of storage.

As for pricing, the Xiaomi 12T Pro is rumored to cost 850 euros in Europe (by comparison, the Xiaomi 12 Pro now costs 900 euros). The Xiaomi 12T is expected to cost around 650 euros - slightly less than the Xiaomi 12 costs in the official store (700 euros).
