A new powerful flare of class X has been registered on the Sun, as a result of which the emission of solar plasma took place in the direction of the Earth, reports the Russian Space Research Institute.

The first reports about the outbreak were received on the night of October 9. The radiation started to increase at 4:25 Moscow time (05:25 Yerevan time), reaching the maximum at 4:58.

"The absolute score was not very high (X1.8), but there are a number of important moments. First of all, a large emission of plasma was recorded again, and this time its configuration, regardless of what the models show, essentially excludes the possibility of "bypassing" the Earth," explained the institute, adding that the emission will reach the Earth on October 11 - on the 12th.

The institute also noted that another noteworthy point about the plasma discharge was the location of the ignition. It happened in a huge spot in the north of the Sun, which appeared at the end of September, which gives scientists reason to believe that there will be such powerful flares in the near future.

According to them, there was nothing to indicate that there could be such an emission. "Consequences, whatever they may be, will probably not be avoidable this time," the experts concluded.

The plasma emitted as a result of a flare on the Sun causes a magnetic storm, which sometimes reaches the Earth, causing lightning flashes on our planet, causing radio communication failures.
