The famous blogger Valentin Petukhov, better known as Wylsacom, conducted a strength test of the iPhone 16 Pro Max protective glass, which Apple calls Ceramic Shield. Despite the company's claims that the glass has become 50% stronger than previous models, the test results were not so impressive.

Wylsacom found that the iPhone 16 Pro Max protective glass is easier to scratch than the iPhone 12 Pro Max, which raises doubts about Apple's marketing claims. Perhaps the improvements concern only impact resistance, but the situation with scratch resistance of the new flagship is clearly worse.

In addition, it is worth considering that replacing the screen with a matrix in the iPhone 16 Pro Max can cost half the cost of the device itself, and separate protective glasses are not yet supplied to Russia.

The back of the smartphone is also prone to scratches, although they are less noticeable due to the light body.
