A significant number of Americans will not be able to or do not plan to buy the new iPhone 16 because of its high cost. This is evidenced by a survey conducted by SellCell among more than 2,000 iPhone owners in the United States.
According to the results of the study, 34.2% of respondents said that they cannot afford to buy a new device. Another 34.1% of respondents decided to continue using their old gadgets, despite the release of a new model. 12.8% of survey participants cannot change their device because of their commitment to a carrier contract, and 5.5% noted that they do not see significant changes in the iPhone from year to year.
Many users prefer to update their devices every two years, so only 3.3% of respondents plan to refuse to buy the iPhone 16 in anticipation of the release of the iPhone 17 next year.
At the same time, price remains a key factor for 30.9% of Americans when choosing a new smartphone. Interestingly, more than half of respondents (54.9%) would like the iPhone 16 to be larger, including 62.1% of men and 47.8% of women. However, women also expressed concern that the increase in size could make the device more difficult to use.
The presentation of the iPhone 16 and other new Apple products is expected in September, but despite the high interest, a significant portion of users will not be able to afford the new model due to its price.
According to rumors, the iPhone 16 will cost from $ 799, the iPhone 16 Plus will cost $ 899, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max will retain the $ 1,199 price that Apple set for the iPhone 15 Pro Max. As for the iPhone 16 Pro, it will most likely cost around $ 1,099, which is $ 100 more than the starting price of the iPhone 15 Pro at $ 999.
