Apple plans to introduce a new iPhone model with a thickness of only 5 mm. This is significantly smaller than the current models, which range in thickness from 7.8 to 8.25 mm. In a new video on YouTube channel Fpt, insider John Prosser claims that the new model will be called iPhone Air, similar to the lightweight MacBook Air.

According to Prosser, the iPhone 17 Air will be part of a new generation of smartphones, which includes the iPhone 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max and iPhone 17 Air smartphones. He also noted that the new model will replace the Plus model in the iPhone series.

However, it is worth noting that the iPhone 17 Air will not have as powerful specifications as the Pro models. The smartphone is expected to feature an A19 processor and a single rear camera lens. According to Prosser, the price of the device will start at $900.

The insider also suggested that the new model will be marketed similarly to the original MacBook Air, with an emphasis on design over functionality.
