September 25, 2022  16:44

During the October event, Apple may reveal a number of new devices, including the new iPad Pro and Mac models based on the M2 chip. Apple's latest operating systems for tablets and computers, iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura, are also likely to be released next month.

Back in August, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported in his weekly Power on newsletter that Apple would hold two events in the fall during which the company would unveil a range of new devices. At the September event, the company announced the iPhone 14 series, Apple Watch Series 8, the new Apple Watch Ultra, and AirPods Pro 2.

iPad Pro and more affordable iPad models

According to the Bloomberg reporter, Apple may introduce an updated iPad Pro with an M2 processor and an updated entry-level iPad with an A14 chip and a USB Type-C port.

The new iPad models could come with an 11-inch LCD display and a 12.9-inch miniLED display, as well as MagSafe charging.

An affordable iPad with a USB Type-C port may also be coming soon, offering USB Type-C connectivity for the entire iPad lineup. It is expected to have a 10.5-inch or 10.9-inch display.

New Mac models with M2-based chipsets

According to Gurman, Apple has been working on M2-based versions of the Mac mini, Mac Pro and MacBook Pro, and we can expect the company to release at least a couple of these devices.

The new line of 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro laptops will feature the M2 Pro chip, made by TSMC's 3nm processor. They will most likely be announced in fall 2022 or spring 2023.

Mixed reality headset

According to 9to5Mac, Apple may also show off a new mixed reality headset. Experts expect Apple to release its mixed reality headsets in 2023. The company is said to be working on three new headset models codenamed N301, N602, and N421. Nothing more is known about them at the moment.
