The popular instant messenger WhatsApp has received a new feature that allows users to automatically send photos and videos in high definition (HD). At the moment, this update is available exclusively for smartphones with the iOS operating system.
According to WaBetaInfo (WBI), to activate this feature, download the test version of WhatsApp from the AppStore with build number 23.24.73. Once installed, open the app, go to the app settings and select "Storage & Data". In the Media Upload Quality section, you can enable default HD quality for both videos and images.
The update also introduced the ability to record video statuses up to one minute long, significantly increasing the previous limit of 30 seconds.
Note that WhatsApp is currently considered the most popular messaging application in the world: it has more than 2 billion users worldwide.
