How to activate iPhone 48 MP camera and get high quality photos?

March 4, 2024  18:02

The camera of the iPhone 14 Pro smartphone released in 2022 is 48 megapixels, but by default it takes pictures in 12 MP standard mode. However, to shoot at its maximum resolution of 48 MP, users can manually change the settings.

For example, to activate the high-definition shooting function in the basic version of the iPhone 15, you need to go to Settings -> Camera and select Formats, where you need to enable Resolution Control option.

On the iPhone 14 Pro and 15 Pro models, including the Max version, users must enable ProRAW and Resolution Control. After that, select ProRAW or HEIF Max format in the Pro Default menu to shoot up to 48 MP.

After making the settings, when opening the camera app, make sure that the HEIF MAX or RAW MAX icon is displayed in the corner of the screen. In addition, photos must be taken in 1x mode, because if other modes are used, the application will automatically switch to the standard 12 MP pixel mode.
