3 dangerous habits that can harm your smartphone

Some of our daily habits can seriously harm our smartphones, shortening their lifespan. In most cases, we don’t even know about the harmfulness of these habits.

Extreme temperatures

According to the leading analyst of Mobile Research Group, Eldar Murtazin, it is quite dangerous to use a smartphone during periods of extreme temperatures - both hot and cold. Moreover, high air humidity is also dangerous for the device.

“Any extreme temperatures are not very good for a smartphone, just like for a person. In extreme heat, the device heats up and discharges faster. With a large minus, it also discharges faster. High humidity is also dangerous. Sooner or later it kills electronics,” the specialist noted.

Alcohol and disinfectant liquids

The specialist also does not recommend wiping the screen and connectors of the smartphone with alcohol and other disinfecting liquids: there are, of course, a lot of bacteria on the surface of the smartphone, but this method of fighting them can flood the membranes and microphones of the device and lead to oxidation of the connectors.

If you are concerned about potentially dangerous microorganisms on the surface of your smartphone, Murtazin advises using an ultraviolet disinfectant.

Too many apps

Installing a large number of applications can harm a smartphone, noted, in turn, Vladimir Ulyanov, head of the Zecurion analytical center.

“Most programs consume some resources in one way or another, even if they are inactive. They use both battery and memory in the background. All this can negatively affect the operation of the smartphone. It will quickly discharge and slow down,” he said.
