The University of Arizona has announced a partnership with OpenAI for the integration of ChatGPT into the educational process. The university has set three main goals for this collaborative project: improving student performance, creating new opportunities for innovative research, and optimizing organizational processes.

Kyle Bowen, the Deputy Director of Information Technology at the university, told The Verge, "Our teachers and staff have already used ChatGPT, and with the launch of ChatGPT Enterprise, which helped us address some security concerns, we decided to collaborate with OpenAI." He added that experienced artificial intelligence instructors will play a key role in implementing this technology on campus.

In February, the University of Arizona's administration will begin accepting applications for the use of ChatGPT. Some professors are already using this platform in their classes, such as in journalism courses, where the chatbot may act as a mentor for students. Last year, the university launched an accelerator for artificial intelligence projects, bringing together researchers and engineers to develop AI services. Urgent engineering courses to enhance AI literacy were also introduced.

For OpenAI, this marks its first collaborative project with an educational institution, as the company actively forges partnerships with various organizations. Recently, an agreement was reached with the government of the state of Pennsylvania for the use of the ChatGPT Enterprise service by government officials.
