Is it safe to charge smartphone overnight?

Modern smartphones can be left on charge overnight, but there is one important condition: you must use a suitable charger and a working cable. This opinion was expressed by the head of the Zecurion analytical center Vladimir Ulyanov.

According to him, overnight charging is even more preferable, because if you charge the phone during the day, constantly plugging it in and out of the outlet, this can negatively affect the condition of the battery and shorten its service life. In addition, using a smartphone while it is charging may also not be a good idea, since the cable will bend, break, become exposed and become damaged.

The specialist also noted that modern smartphones are equipped with controllers, thanks to which they do not 'overcharge.' But if you use a faulty cable, it can lead to problems, including a fire. Therefore, the specialist does not recommend using damaged accessories.

There is also an opinion that you should not discharge your phone to almost zero and charge it to 100%. Some experts recommend putting your phone on charge when the battery is 10-20% discharged and charging it to 80-90%.
