DxOMark tested the battery life and charging speed of Apple's latest flagship smartphone, the iPhone 15 Pro Max, and the results were less impressive compared to the two-year-old iPhone 13 Pro Max.

According to testing results, the iPhone 15 Pro Max with a 4441 mAh battery demonstrated the following performance:

  • With intensive use, the smartphone worked for 43 hours;
  • With moderate use, the operating time was 69 hours.

These results put the iPhone 15 Pro Max in third place in the premium category, but in the overall ranking the smartphone was only in 19th position.

In terms of charging speed, the iPhone 15 Pro Max reached 53% charge in 30 minutes of wired charging and 100% charge in 121 minutes. Wireless charging resulted in a 30% charge in 30 minutes and 100% in 157 minutes. In this aspect, Apple's flagship took 32nd place among premium devices and 113th place in the overall ranking out of 163.

At the same time, experts highly appreciated other characteristics of the device. As a result, the iPhone 15 Pro Max received 148 points for autonomy, 116 for charging speed and 134 for energy efficiency, ranking 29th in the overall ranking. However, the iPhone 13 Pro Max model with 136 points is ahead of the new product, taking 19th place thanks to better battery life and energy efficiency, despite a slower charging speed.

Note that the iPhone 15 Pro Max shares 29th place with such smartphones as the Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus (Snapdragon), Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G and Xiaomi Redmi Note 10.

And the first three places in this ranking are occupied by Honor Magic5 Lite 5G (the battery of which received 152 points), Oppo Find X6 Pro and Honor X7a (147 points each).
