Apple intends to increase the screens of the flagship iPhone 16 Pro and maintain the standard image refresh rate in the numbered models. Insider Revegnus announced this on their page on the X social network (formerly Twitter).

According to the source, Apple plans to enlarge the screens of the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max to 6.27 and 6.86 inches, respectively. The diagonal of the current iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max is 6.1 and 6.7 inches, respectively. Other insiders had previously reported potential increases in display size, mostly focusing on the top model in the lineup, which may be named iPhone 16 Ultra.

Changes will also be applied to the base models, iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, whose displays will maintain their current sizes of 6.12 and 6.69 inches, respectively. These versions will be equipped with LTPS matrices with a refresh rate of 60 Hz. Thus, the numbered models of the next generation of iPhones will lag in screen smoothness compared to most budget smartphones, where the image refresh rate typically fluctuates between 90 and 120 Hz.

According to previous leaks, the next generation of numbered iPhones will feature an action button, currently present only in the Pro models.
