Low temperatures, as well as high ones, can negatively affect the operation of a smartphone. What can you do to keep your smartphone working in cold weather? Gazeta.Ru shares several tips on this with reference to Roskachestvo specialists.

  1. Keep your device warm: When outdoors, try to keep your smartphone in your pocket. If you need to make a call, it is better to use Bluetooth headphones to minimize the contact of the device with the cold.
  2. Use a thermal case: The screen and other parts of the device become more fragile due to the cold. Using a thermal cover will create thermal insulation; in addition, the cover will prevent damage from impacts or falls. You can also use covers made of different materials, such as fabric, knitted, suede or synthetic covering.
  3. Limit device use: In sub-zero temperatures, your smartphone or tablet can slow down and drain your battery quickly. Use the device minimally as they feel comfortable at temperatures above 0°C. If you leave your gadget in the cold, in some cases it may turn off completely.
  4. Avoid cold cars: Do not leave the device in a cold car, as prolonged exposure to frost may damage the technical components of the device.
  5. Gradually warm up after returning to warmth: When entering a warm room from a cold environment, allow the device to gradually “acclimate” to room temperature. You cannot quickly heat up your smartphone on the battery or other heat sources - this can lead to the formation of condensation inside the device, and in some cases, to more serious consequences.
