iPhone 16 to receive interesting feature: Voice assistant to ‘get smarter’ like ChatGPT

November 10, 2023  18:14

iPhone 16 smartphones, expected to be released next year, will receive an improved version of the Siri voice assistant, equipped with artificial intelligence that has become smarter to the level of ChatGPT.

According to insider Revegnus, the company plans to make Siri's advanced AI features exclusive to the iPhone 16 and subsequent Apple devices. Devices that have already been released, apparently, will not receive a smart assistant.

According to the insider, the assistant will receive a higher level of intellectual capabilities, comparable to the ChatGPT neural network chat bot. These changes will allow Siri to better understand user queries, support more natural conversations and offer more relevant responses.

The official presentation of the improved Siri is planned at the WWDC 2024 conference, which will take place in early summer next year.

Previously, there was information from Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman about Apple's plans to introduce artificial intelligence technologies in iOS 18 and iPadOS 18. He also reported that the new version of Siri will be focused on better understanding user requests, supporting more natural dialogue and providing more relevant answers, making voice assistant more useful and convenient for users.

However, to realize such capabilities, a company will need to resolve technical issues related to where the data is processed—on the device, in the cloud, or both. In addition, to achieve such goals, new hardware solutions will be required, which will only be used on the new iPhone and iPad.
