Why do new Xiaomi 14 overheat and is it worth worrying about?

The new Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro get quite hot -- this was noticed by visitors to physical stores where stands with new flagship smartphones appeared. Lu Weibing, president of Xiaomi Group and general manager of the Redmi brand, says there is no need to worry about this.

As reported by the Chinese publication MyDrivers, Weibing noted in his comments that smartphones at store stands work for days on end -- their screen is always on and they are constantly receiving power from the network. Under such loads, according to him, overheating of devices is inevitable. However, under normal operating conditions, the built-in cooling system of Xiaomi 14 is able to effectively cope with thermal loads.

MyDrivers also notes that the Xiaomi general manager's version seems convincing, given the significant interest in the new Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro models in the Chinese market. Complaints from some users about long queues at stands with these smartphones confirm the high demand for these devices.

The huge demand for new smartphones is also indicated by information from the four main platforms in China - Tmall, JD.com, Douyin and Kuaishou. According to media reports, Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro became the best-selling smartphones of 2023 in China in a matter of hours.
