Joure & Joe, a team of independent developers, recently introduced their horror game, 'Don't Scream,' into the early access phase on Steam. The unique twist in this game involves navigating through a sinister forest while evading monstrous entities, with a catch: the player must remain silent. Utilizing a microphone as a primary gameplay mechanic, any vocal outburst from the player will promptly result in the game's conclusion. The project was meticulously crafted using the Unreal Engine 5, ensuring a visually immersive and captivating experience for players.

In the game's description, the developers highlight the game's primary objective of inducing fear in the player, positioning it as a simulated fright-fest rather than a narrative-driven gameplay experience. The premise is straightforward: refrain from making any noise. The simplicity of the game is emphasized, with a cheeky remark suggesting that even one's mother can easily become engrossed in the gameplay.

Players are required to have a functional microphone and must fine-tune it to ensure optimal responsiveness. Any unintended sound, including casual conversations or even subtle sighs during gameplay, could trigger the game's conclusion, prompting the player to restart the challenging journey from the beginning.

The developers even claimed that a tester of 'Don't Scream' ended up in a psychiatric hospital due to the intense experience of the game, underscoring the spine-chilling and immersive nature of the gameplay.

'Don't Scream' is currently available for purchase on Steam, priced at $6.29, with a 10 percent discount offered during the early access phase. Fans of horror games seeking an adrenaline-fueled challenge are invited to embark on this thrilling and unique gaming experience, where silence is indeed golden.
