iPhone 15 Pro loses to Huawei P60 Pro in the fight for best camera

DxOMark specialists have published the test results of the new iPhone 15 Pro smartphone camera. The device demonstrated a high level of photo and video quality, setting eight laboratory records. However, it still took the second place in the ranking, and the first place was taken by the Huawei P60 Pro.

The iPhone 15 Pro has the same camera system as the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The only difference is the use of a 5x zoom periscope telephoto lens on the Pro Max compared to the 3x telephoto lens on the base Pro.

According to experts at DxOMark, the iPhone 15 Pro does an excellent job at metering exposure, blurring the background, maintaining a balance between noise and texture, and reflecting natural skin tones.

The smartphone captures both people and landscapes well, using HDR to create bright and contrasty shots. However, the device has some drawbacks, such as noise in the shadows, glare in the image, as well as the lack of sufficient detail when shooting from a long distance.

In the video recording mode, the iPhone 15 Pro also scored well, setting five DxOMark records. The smartphone features accurate exposure, rich colors, fast focus, minimal noise, and good stabilization. In addition, the device correctly applies HDR video, making videos bright and contrasty.

Based on the test results, the iPhone 15 Pro received praise from DxOMark experts for its camera, but could not become the best in the world. The smartphone shared the second place in the world ranking with iPhone 15 Pro Max. Both Apple smartphones scored 154 points, while the Huawei P60 Pro scored 156 points.

Oppo Find X6 Pro (153 points) and Honor Magic5 Pro (152 points) took the 4th and 5th positions in the rating list.
