Is Apple skimping on components? Cheap iPhone 15 battery lasts only 600 charge cycles

October 6, 2023  16:39

The iPhone 14 smartphones had a rather unpleasant problem - they lost residual battery capacity after several months of use. And judging by new information, similar problems may occur with the iPhone 15.

According to trusted insider RGcloudS, the iPhone 15 is equipped with cheaper batteries that can only withstand about 600 charging cycles without a critical loss of capacity. This means that the batteries in the new iPhone series may die just as quickly as those of the iPhone 14.

In comparison, smartphone batteries from other brands can withstand at least 800 charge cycles, and OnePlus even offers more advanced self-healing batteries that can withstand 1,600 charge cycles.

Clearly, with global economic uncertainty, Apple is forced to make difficult decisions to maximize profits while maintaining competitive prices for its products. And one of these solutions is to use less durable batteries.

Reports of the iPhone 14 Pro losing 10-15% of its battery capacity in less than a year have raised concerns among users. Now it remains to be seen how quickly similar problems with iPhone 15 batteries will be identified and how Apple will respond to them.
