We should make Armenian AI a brand – Berge Ayvazian

Artificial intelligence has always been a part of Armenia's high technologies, and it's time for us to make it a brand, said Berge Ayvazian, senior analyst/consultant at Wireless 20/20 company, in an interview with NEWS.am Tech, the information partner of the Orion Summit 2023 that took place in New York from June 19-22.

"Armenia is already a leader in the field of high technologies and artificial intelligence has always been part of our high technologies. For more than ten years, we've been growing AI companies. Armenia is already taking a step forward and showing its leadership in this field," he said.

According to Berge Ayvazian, they will work with the Ministries of High-Tech Industry and Economy of Armenia to establish Armenia's leadership in organizing this industry, so that Armenia becomes famous for it as well. "Armenia should be the best place for the development of artificial intelligence," he said.

According to him, today's artificial intelligence tools have raised a number of questions regarding the reliability of the information provided by them, and now everyone is concerned that regulations should be introduced in the field of artificial intelligence. This is where, according to him, Armenia has something to do, because it can solve the existing problems.

"The source of information for an artificial intelligence platform doesn't have to be the open web, one can create highly targeted, well-trained algorithms that are linked to corporate data that has been carefully collected and analyzed, resulting in good responses. In addition, we should start branding the Armenian certified artificial intelligence. It will be interesting, isn’t it?” he added.

Asked whether it is possible for artificial intelligence to ever completely replace human intelligence, Berge Ayvazian said that this is not the goal of artificial intelligence, it does not replace humans, and it is simply a tool that makes humans more capable.

"It is the most effective tool; it is not a weapon, nor something that replaces human intelligence. In fact, artificial intelligence will create more jobs than it will render the human workforce redundant. It will just be necessary for people to be retrained and use artificial intelligence in a different way. Those who will be able to use artificial intelligence more effectively will be rewarded the most," he explained.
