The Chinese company Huawei is reportedly planning to create its own version of the artificial intelligence chatbot ChatGPT, gizmochina.com reports.

A possible name for the new development is NetGPT. The Chinese Patent and Trademark Office already has an application for registration of the corresponding trademark, filed by Huawei.

The Huawei NetGPT trademark is known to refer to patent class 9, which includes "scientific instruments".

The application is currently on a waiting list of applications for consideration, there are no details on the agency's website about what this trademark will be used for.

According to the website, the brand name suggests that Huawei is preparing its own competitor to OpenAI's ChatGPT chatbot. This also confirms Huawei's earlier statement that the company has no plans to integrate ChatGPT into its products and will instead focus on developing better AI technologies.

According to gizmochina.com, such a solution can be NetGPT, with which Huawei will equip its devices in the future.
