Samsung plans to ditch Google Search on its Galaxy smartphones and replace it with Bing

Samsung may stop using Google search service in its Galaxy smartphones and replace it with Microsoft's Bing search engine, reports The New York Times.

The newspaper notes that Google employees were "shocked" to learn that the South Korean company is looking for another partner. Until recently, the Bing search engine wasn't even competitive, but that all changed when it added artificial intelligence and a chatbot that can "communicate" with users.

According to The New York Times, which obtained access to internal Google documents, the news of Samsung's intentions caused "panic" at Google. This contract with the smartphone manufacturer, which guarantees the installation of Google's search engine on all Galaxy smartphones, brings Google 3 billion dollars a year.

Potential threats from competitors have forced Google to take action, and the company is already working on creating a new search service that will be based on the latest technologies. In addition, the current search system will also be updated and based on artificial intelligence functions, reports NYT.

The new search engine will offer users a much more personalized experience than the company's current service, which will try to anticipate users' needs.

Google representative Lara Levin said that not every idea becomes a reality, but the company is excited to integrate new features powered by artificial intelligence into search, which will be announced to the public soon.

Earlier, the CEO of Google, Sundar Pichai, announced that the company plans to introduce an artificial intelligence function into its search engine, which, unlike similar tools of other companies, will speak. It is expected that this will help the company to compete with the ChatGPT chatbot, as well as solve a number of other problems in the business.
