NVIDIA has officially announced that it is ending further support for the classic NVIDIA Control Panel in its consumer GeForce Game Ready drivers and NVIDIA Studio drivers. The utility, which has served as the company’s main graphics settings tool for more than two decades, is now gradually being phased out.

Transition to a new application

The company explains that most of the commonly used features have already been moved to the modern NVIDIA App, which is steadily replacing both GeForce Experience and a large part of the functionality of the old Control Panel.

Users who already have the Control Panel installed will still be able to continue using it. However, the interface will no longer appear after a clean driver installation. It can still be downloaded via the Microsoft Store if needed, but NVIDIA no longer plans to release updates, new features, or bug fixes for it.

Who will be affected

The changes will primarily affect owners of GeForce gaming and creator GPUs. For the professional NVIDIA RTX PRO series, support for the Control Panel will remain in place until all specialized tools are fully migrated to the new application.
