On the evening of October 2, the inhabitants of the Earth will witness an interesting astronomical phenomenon - the eclipse of the Sun, but not everyone will be able to admire that sight. You can also watch the eclipse live here.

As reported by the Moscow Planetarium, the eclipse will be annular - partial, during which the Earth's surface will intersect with the Moon's conical shadow, because the Moon is too far from the Earth to completely cover the Sun.

The annular phase of the solar eclipse can be observed in the south of South America, as well as in the central and southeastern Pacific Ocean. The maximum phase of the eclipse will occur at 22:45 Yerevan time, when the Moon will cover 93 percent of the Sun's diameter, and this will occur in the southeast Pacific Ocean at 69° above the horizon.

On October 2, 2024, partial phases of the solar eclipse will be visible in southern South America, northern New Zealand, the central and southern Pacific, and most of Antarctica.

"The upcoming solar eclipse, which can be observed in Moscow, will take place on March 29, 2025, from 14:25 to 15:13 Moscow time, it will be partial, the Moon will cover a very small part of the solar disk. The total eclipse will be visible from Moscow only on October 16, 2126, and the residents of the capital will be able to see the annular eclipse on July 13, 2075," said the Moscow Planetarium.
