As a result of the explosions registered on the Sun a few days ago, the magnetic storm that hit the Earth on Sunday intensified, reaching the G3 level, which is considered high, according to the data of the Institute of Applied Geophysics of the Russian Federation.
In addition, solar flares continue, the intensity of which is approaching the maximum possible class X. The K index of geomagnetic activity has reached 6.67, the aif.ru website notes.
As the website kp.ru notes, the special scale of the degree of disturbance of the Earth's magnetic field includes five successive indicators, where G1 is attributed to a weak magnetic storm, and at the G5 level it is an extremely strong magnetic storm.
According to the preliminary forecast of experts, strong magnetic storms are also expected in the period between August 25 and 27.
On the night of August 5, due to a strong magnetic storm in various regions of Russia, people witnessed one of the most beautiful phenomena of nature - the northern lights.
On August 4, Mikhail Leus, the leading specialist of the "Phobos" weather center, reported that a magnetic storm hit the Earth on Sunday, and that the storm was still weak at that time.
Weather-dependent people are advised not to work during magnetic storms, stay indoors and do light household chores, go to bed early, and eat light meals.
